Advanced Processing Facility
Washed substrates are processed in state-of-the-art combing and decorticating units.
Sourcing, Decortication & Sun Curing
Stages A & B: Our integrated processing cycle monitors husks from raw sorting up to natural sun curing to ensure premium structural quality.
Raw Husk Sourcing & Selection
We directly source raw coconut husks from local Tamil Nadu farms. We run strict selection protocols, choosing only mature dry husks to ensure high-strength, premium-grade coir fiber and coco peat production.
Decortication & Combing
The raw husks undergo decortication and combing inside our facility. This separate the golden coir fibers from the soft organic coco peat particles without damaging the natural structure.
Triple Washing & EC Leaching
To produce our signature low EC coco peat blocks, the peat is subjected to fresh-water triple washing. This leaches out excess sodium and potassium salts, keeping electrical conductivity (EC) strictly under 0.5 mS/cm.
Natural Sun Curing & Moisture Control
Washed substrates are laid out across our massive cement yards. We utilize natural sun curing to slowly reduce moisture content under 15% before screening.
Compaction & Packaging
Once cured, our coco peat is double-screened to remove foreign elements and compressed inside hydraulic block machines at a 5:1 ratio into uniform 5KG blocks.
Coir fiber is fed into automated bale compactors to produce highly compressed 120KG bales. These are bound using high-tension PET strapping to survive high-pressure marine container logistics.
Cargo Standards Met:
- · 5:1 Compression Ratios
- · Moisture Tolerances < 15%
- · High-tension PET Band Strapping
- · Stretch-wrapped pallet loads
Dharmapuri Processing Site
Curing yards spread over clean, elevated concrete fields to prevent external soil contact.
Rigorous Lab Testing & In-Process Validation
Coconut coir is a naturally organic medium, meaning environmental parameters can naturally vary. GVB Coirs controls this variation by performing lab batch verification at multiple checkpoints.
We extract random samples from drying yards and compression runs. These samples are tested under standard 1:1.5 dilution methods to guarantee that all chemical and physical parameters match the buyer specification sheet exactly.
Kept strictly below 0.5 mS/cm for washed substrate batches, protecting sensitive young root systems in commercial greenhouses.
Maintained between 5.5 and 6.8 to ensure optimal fertilizer intake and nutrient absorption across commercial crop types.
Decorticated coir peat is double-screened through specialized mesh nets to hold sand content under 3% maximum.
Certified Compliance: AQIS, USDA & Phytosanitary Standards
To meet the stringent quarantine requirements for exports to Australia (AQIS), USA (USDA), and Europe, we provide official Phytosanitary certificates and fumigation services (Methyl Bromide or Heat treatment) with every container booking, guaranteeing cargo lands weed-free and pathogen-free.
